7th September 2022 Bloomfield Ladies Open Invitation Triples
Bloomfield ladies held their annual Open Invitation Triples tournament on Wednesday 7th September. The weather held out, there was great fun had on the green and a first-class buffet was very well received. Congratulations to the winners from Stothert and Pitt, and also to the runners-up from Frome Park. A great day. Well done to all involved.
29th August 2022 Captains Charity Day
Bloomfield held its annual Captains Charity Day on the August Bank Holiday Monday to raise money for the British Lung Foundation and the Anthony Nolan Trust. It was a fun day of friendly competition followed by a barbeque provided by club members. In total the event was supported by 72 bowlers and guests and raised £1000 for the charities. 5th August 2022 Bowls Taster Session for Western Building Consultants
Bloomfield hosted a Bowls Taster Session for Western Building Consultants and their guests on Friday 5th August. The 21 players were given an introduction to the game in the morning and then, after a hearty lunch, played a round-robin tournament in the afternoon with two teams then going through to play in a final. 24th July 2022 Big Cream Tea event
A splendid “Big cream tea” event was held at Bloomfield last weekend to raise money for Children’s Hospice South West. The event was enjoyed by many, and donated to by many (including members who were unable to attend).
Many congratulations and thanks to Susie Walker (our Vice-President) for organising the event to and all those who supported it. The amount raised was an excellent £845. Well done to all involved.
8th July 2022 Taster Session for BLB Solicitors Ltd
Bloomfield hosted a taster session for the Private Client department of BLB Solicitors Ltd and its guests. Twenty four invited guests tried their hand at bowls under the guidance of some of Bloomfield’s experienced members.
They played a round-robin tournament in teams of triples and after a competitive contest the eventual winners were Jack Simpson, Liz Dolman and Marco Martin.

26th June 2022 – Open Triples Tournament

2nd Jun 2022 – Hoss Fletcher Trophy
Hot on the heels of a hugely successful Bowls’ Big Weekend at Bloomfield, it was Hoss Fletcher trophy day on Thursday; an internal two-wood competition played for the “Trophy” and also this year for the “Rose Bowl”. Many thanks to our intrepid organiser Ross Turnbull for a great day that was enjoyed by all.

7th Nov 2021 – Bloomfield members attended the SBA annual presentation lunch at Lympsham to collect the Turnbull Cup, and the runners up Cup for the men’s triples.
6th Nov 2021 – Our first indoor match of the season at Clarrie Dunbar playing against our friends from Alexandra Park. We lost, but nevertheless it was great afternoon full of fun, humour and laughter.
11th Oct 2021 – Bloomfield Bowls Club were delighted to receive sponsorship from Hilliers Garden Centre. Pictured at the presentation were Paul Williams (President), Mike Westlake (Vice-President), Susie Walker (Secretary), Mo Westlake (Treasurer) alongside Jack Boswell (Acquisitions Marketing Executive) and Ian (Local Manager for Hilliers Bath). Bloomfield Bowls Club look forward to a future partnership with Hilliers, our local garden centre.
12th Sep 2021 – Bloomfield are Turnbull Cup Winners for the first time in the club’s history! Congratulations to the team on a great result. Also huge thanks to the reserves and all our supporters who travelled with us – you really did make all the difference.
